But dry measuring cups make it difficult to read the meniscus since you must fill the cup to the top with the dry ingredient without any extra space left at the top.
Apart from risking a wrong measurement if you use a dry measuring cup for a liquid, you can also easily overfill the cup and spill the liquid. In the same vein, you should not use a liquid measuring cup for dry ingredients, as you will be unable to level or flatten the top of your dry ingredient with a flat edge.
