Making gummy bears at home is super easy and fun! I combine 1 cup of fruit juice with 2 tablespoons of honey and whisk in 2 tablespoons of gelatin over medium heat. If you want it tangy, I add a teaspoon of citric acid. After cooling, I pour the mixture into silicone molds and refrigerate them for 30 minutes. Trust me, homemade gummies are way better than store-bought, and there’s so much more I can share!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup fruit juice (your choice, such as orange, apple, or grape)
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (for sweetness)
- 2 tablespoons gelatin powder (unflavored)
- 1 teaspoon citric acid (optional, for tartness)
- Silicone gummy bear molds
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, combine the fruit juice and honey (or agave syrup) over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is warm and the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Gradually sprinkle the gelatin powder into the warm juice while continuously whisking to prevent clumping. Keep whisking until the mixture is smooth and the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- If you want a tangy flavor, add citric acid to the mixture and stir well.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully pour the mixture into the silicone gummy bear molds. I find using a dropper or a small measuring cup makes this step easier and less messy.
- Place the filled molds in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the gummies are firm.
- Once set, gently pop the gummy bears out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

When making gummy bears, I’ve learned that the type of fruit juice you use can really affect the flavor and sweetness, so I like to experiment with different combinations.
For a fun twist, you can also add a splash of lemon or lime juice for an extra zing.
If you prefer a firmer gummy bear, simply increase the amount of gelatin. Additionally, I find that letting them chill a bit longer in the fridge can enhance the texture.
Enjoy your homemade gummy bears as a sweet treat or a fun snack!
