Chocolate Bar Creation Method

Ingredients:
- 200g dark chocolate
- 100g milk chocolate
- 50g white chocolate
- 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts)
- 1/2 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
- 1/4 cup crispy rice cereal
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
Cooking Instructions:
- Begin by chopping the dark and milk chocolate into small pieces to ensure even melting.
- Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it using a double boiler method. Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a simmer, then place the bowl over the saucepan, making sure it doesn’t touch the water.
- Once melted, remove the bowl from heat and mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.
- Pour half of the melted dark chocolate into a lined chocolate bar mold, tilting the mold to spread it evenly. Let it set in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.
- In the meantime, melt the milk chocolate in the same way as the dark chocolate. Once melted, add the mixed nuts, dried fruits, and crispy rice cereal, stirring until everything is well coated.
- After the dark chocolate layer has set, pour the milk chocolate mixture over it and spread it evenly. Return the mold to the fridge for another 15 minutes.
- Finally, melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the milk chocolate layer, creating a decorative pattern if desired. Let it set completely in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Once fully set, gently remove the chocolate bar from the mold and break it into pieces or cut it into bars.

Extra Tips:
When making chocolate bars, I find that the quality of chocolate really matters, so I always opt for the best I can afford.
Additionally, feel free to customize the mix-ins according to your preferences—experimenting with different nuts, seeds, or even spices can yield delightful results.
I also recommend tempering the chocolate if you’re aiming for a glossy finish and a satisfying snap when you break the bar.
And don’t forget to enjoy the process; the smell of melting chocolate is simply irresistible!
Origin in Middle Eastern Cuisine
While many might associate chocolate with European traditions, its roots in Middle Eastern cuisine are deep and rich.
I’ve learned that ancient cultures in this region used cocoa for both culinary delights and medicinal purposes.
The blend of spices and nuts in traditional Middle Eastern desserts paved the way for chocolate innovations, making it a unique fusion of flavors that I truly cherish.
