Holyoke – The iconic White Hut, renowned for its delicious hot dogs and burgers smothered in fried onions, unveiled its brand-new branch in Holyoke this Tuesday.
Having successfully served the West Springfield community for 84 fruitful years, the decision to expand came from the Yee family in collaboration with their partners: Peter Picknelly, Holyoke entrepreneur Mark Cutting, and legal counsel Jack Ferriter.
The opening ceremony attracted several members of the Holyoke community, including the City Council and Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia. Attendees eagerly awaited the much-anticipated ribbon-cutting event. “Witnessing the excitement surrounding White Hut’s introduction in Holyoke, especially during our 150th municipal anniversary, is genuinely heartwarming,” remarked Garcia.
Adding a touch of whimsy to the proceedings, Nick Yee, the main managing partner from Bean Restaurant Group, was handed an oversized pair of scissors with a red bow to cut through a unique “ribbon” — a string of hot dog links, aptly symbolizing White Hut’s signature dish.
Fans will be thrilled to know that White Hut’s Holyoke outlet promises the identical menu from its West Springfield predecessor. “Our commitment to the original recipes reinforces White Hut’s esteemed legacy,” said Picknelly.
The Holyoke establishment has also introduced a self-service kiosk with the message, “Skip the Line Order Here,” granting patrons a quick and easy ordering option besides the regular counter. Moreover, to enhance the convenience factor, a curbside pick-up service is available, allowing customers to receive their orders directly in their parked cars.
Notably, the famed “West Side Special” breakfast sandwich, consisting of a scrumptious mix of scrambled egg, sausage, hash brown, American cheese, and fried onions in a Venetian water roll, has been christened the “Paper City Special” in this new location.
