Hello food lovers and grill enthusiasts, Chef Bud is back with another show-stopping recipe that you won’t want to miss! Today, we’re diving into the delicious world of sliders with a smoky sweet twist. Made with Angus beef, these sliders are perfect for tailgating or any occasion that calls for good food and good company.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs Angus ground beef
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your choice, but smoky variety preferred)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- Slider buns
- Lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles for garnish
- Optional: Bacon strips
For Smoky Mayo:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Steps:
- Prepare the Smoky Mayo: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, smoked paprika, lemon juice, and salt. Set aside in the fridge.
- Mix the Meat: In a large bowl, combine Angus ground beef, chopped red onion, minced garlic, honey, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Form the Patties: Divide the meat mixture into slider-sized patties, roughly the size of the slider buns.
- Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using bacon, this is a good time to start cooking it until it’s crispy.
- Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Add the Sauce and Cheese: In the last minute of cooking, brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each patty and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Close the grill lid briefly to melt the cheese.
- Assemble the Sliders: Place a dollop of smoky mayo on the bottom half of each slider bun. Add lettuce, a patty, a slice of tomato, and pickles. If you cooked bacon, add a strip on top of the patty. Cap it off with the top half of the bun.
- Serve and Enjoy: Your smoky sweet Angus sliders are ready to be devoured!

These sliders are a bite-sized wonder, packed with flavors that complement each other beautifully. The smoky mayo and sweet barbecue sauce bring a delightful contrast, making these Angus sliders a hit at any gathering.
Happy grilling!
